The Path of Talent – 9 Steps to the Mountain Peak

I. Developing Requirements Profile (Expedition Planning)

We precisely determine the competencies and skills required to fill the particular position after a detailed assessment of the client’s needs to be able to define the ideal candidate’s profile.

II. Project Timing (Opening the Weather Window)

Although, all our searches are based on thoroughness and detail orientation, we are always able to meet the deadline of 4-6 weeks. Our goal is to find the most suitable candidate as quickly and efficiently as possible for our clients.

III. Strategy and Research (Path Mapping)

Most of the time, we work with direct contacts based on our relationship capital – the Telkes Network (TN) has been built up since the 90s. We can assure to reach the best potential candidates by using databases, advertisements, social media and data mining methods.

IV. Pre-selection (Path to the Basecamp)

After the research phase, we prepare a list of potential candidates, and then do the telephone interviews to select the best matches according to the client’s expectations. We do care and put a lot of emphasis on building trust with candidates, at this early stage already.

V. Personal interview (Life in the Basecamp)

During the personal interviews, we get to know the candidates thoroughly, paying special attention to the creation of trust and cooperation. Discretion and consultant confidentiality are always guaranteed.

VI. Longlist (High Altitude Camp)

Based on the personal interviews, we prepare the longlist and the summary on the long-listed candidates which includes a detailed professional evaluation of each potential candidate.

VII. Shortlist (Selection of Summiters)

Based on our professional summary, the client selects the most suitable candidates who will participate in the further selection process.

VIII. Presentation of the Candidates (The Peak Attack)

The short-listed candidates are interviewed personally by the client as well. The in-person interviews are conducted in discreet and professional conditions, either in the client’s own office or in the exclusive office of Telkes Consulting where many managers have been selected successfully so far.

IX. Decision (Conquering the Summit of the Mountain)

Even in the last stage of the selection process, we continuously support not only our client in decision-making, but we also accompany the candidates on the selection journey, ensuring full consulting support for both parties until the finish of the executives search project.
